Sligo Town Centre

Sligo Town Centre has been the subject of many iterations and initiatives over the past decade.

The “current” scheme was conceived with a number of key commercial imperatives as a backdrop; one, to have Debenhams as an anchor store; two, that a new civic amenity in the form of a library and interpretive centre would form a major part of the proposal and finally that access and car parking could be fully resolved with adjacent owners, in the interests of securing a viable Planning Permission. The proposal was supported by the Local Authority, interest groups and retailers and a successful Planning permission issued in 2011. The scheme is currently on hold.
