Magee @ McSharry

Wexford Street, Dublin

In late September 2000 DMOD were instructed to proceed with preliminary sketch design for the renovation of No. 28 Wicklow St. in Dublin for a new retail outlet on the ground & first floors with storage & office use above. The client requirement was that the unit be open for Christmas trading in less than three months time. To achieve completion in such a short time, DMOD instructed a local builder to commence enabling work immediately including rot treatment, damp proofing and stripping out. The scheme design & specifications were signed off during a series of client meetings over a short period and negotiations commenced with Patton Shopfitting at an early stage.

The selection of materials was largely dictated by availability. Material included Donegal Quartzite flooring, Black American Walnut stairs and a striking Portuguese Limestone and frameless glass shopfront. On the 15th of December 2000 after a construction period of just seven weeks Magee @ McSharry opened its doors in time for Christmas trading.
