TSB Grafton Street

TSB Bank was a long standing client of DMOD from the establishment of the practice in 1989 until the mid 2000’s. Previously The Trustee Savings Bank, DMOD assisted the Bank in a nationwide rebranding to TSB Bank in the mid 1990’s and in parallel with an ambitious branch expansion and redevelopment programme. The existing branch at 70 Grafton st, although benefitting from tall floor to ceiling heights at street level, was restricted in public floor area and this limited the effective use of the space. The main objective in the redesign was to maximise light in the enhanced public ground level space, improving visual connection to the outside, while the new contemporary facade radically improved the Bank’s presence on Dublin principle’s retail street. The project was exhibited in the AAI awards at the time.
